We're staying at Point B B&B near the water front and the Cape Town stadium, which you've seen during the World Cup. Thankfully it's a little quieter, no vazula horns yet.
We got a hop-on, hop-off city tour, which is very touristy but who are we trying to kid? We got off Downtown which features many street markets and craft malls.
We stopped in the St George Cathedral were Desmond Tutu made his speech calling for the end of apartheid and the start of the last illegal march in South Africa. It's quite amazing to see the changes that happened such a short time ago and to remember the brutality.
Back on the bus to the base of Table Mountain. This just dominates the whole of Cape Town. It's everywhere you go.
However it's frequently fogged in, so we got a little damp. We're going back (and up) in a few days when the weather is supposed to improve.
We head northwest to beaches.
Incredible houses perched on cliffs over gorgeous beaches.
The only sea life we saw were surfers.
Back towards the city we stop for another great meal, seafood this time. Dinner prices are quite amazing, less then $40 for the two of us (unless my math is confused).
Along the water there is this series of statues of a girl and a dragon fly:
It's a poem.
Last stop: back at the Water Front which features a version of the London Eye:
And this thing:
(It's made out of Coke Cola crates)
Another great day.
Tomorrow: the wine country.
Cape Town arrival
A couple of more flights and we made it to Cape Town.
After a refreshing power snooze at the B&B we headed down to the Waterfront, which reminded us of Vancouver's Granville Island.
Tonight was the Zombie Walk, so zombies everywhere. And street musicians who with sounded like they played on Paul Simon's "Graceland".
On way back we stopped to hear a group "Hot Water". They and the audience were having a really good time.

Day 1: London
With the first glass of champagne we were finally on our way.
The flight to London was very easy, but a little short:
After dinner and a movie there's not a lot of nap time.
We had a 10 hour layover in Heathrow, so we took the train into the city for quick walkabout.
We checked out Hyde park, horses everywhere: real
and statues
Great bird watching too, we even saw a green parakeet.
Down Oxford and Regent street to watch the Christmas shoppers, no economic problems here!
Then into Soho for a little lunch.
Back to the train via the back streets, past the Bentley, Rolls Royce and Porsche dealers doing a brisk business.
Not too exciting, no lions or tigers yet!
Now, time to hit the showers before the next flight.
