Our hotel, The Elephant Crossing, gets first place so far.
We're right on the river
Here's our guide Pan and us enjoying another great meal
The morning tour took us to the Tham Jang caves which were used by the Pathet Lao army during war with the Americans (no hard feelings). These caves are high in the cliffs overlooking the city.
The Americans had an airfield in the middle of town: 'Lima Six'.
The caves are filled great formations
that stretch for kilometers
And of course a Buddha
In the afternoon we rented some bikes are headed for the hills. They're limestone karst towers that are an extension of the same in Ha Long Bay in Vietnam.
Enticing, but take with a large grain of salt
Not the real 'Blue Lagoon'
Clearing the rice fields
Bath time
Nancy sharing pictures
Rush hour
Dinner time!
