Mendoza, AR / Feb 02 - 03

We stayed between the centro and a huge city park.  We rented bikes and explored.

We headed to the park

which houses a university, a golf and tennis club, a lake

and the occasional outdoor aerobic class... 'Quarto y treis y ...'

Influences of colonial architecture are everywhere

Fountains and ninos

Next day we rented bikes from 'Mr Hugo' and rode around olive orchards, chocolatiers, museums.

and vineyards

There are over 300 vineyards in the area.  This is Trapiche Winery, which has a great tour.

We learned about the Italian families that brought their winemaking expertise to the area after the second world war. Our young guide could trace her roots in the industry back to her grandmother.

We also met the Trepiche llamas
