Welcome to Chile
Santiago is surrounded by the Andes
It's a lively city.
These guys are celebrating something, but we're not sure what.
Ready for alfresco dining.
We met an impassioned tour guide named Phillipe who gives free tours of the city, and a small group of us set off from Plaza de Armes.
After a history lesson
We head off to the bohemian neighbourhood of Barrio Bellavista, stuffed with bars and restaurants.
It's also known for its murals and this one shows their Nobel winning poet Pablo Neruda, and the love of his life
He built a whimsical home into the side of the mountain which resembles a ship, especially on the inside.
He was a communist who was a thorn in the side of right-wing government back in the day. His story reflects the political struggles of this country.
We close the tour with some of the many markets
Ciao
