Namibian Desert - day 1 / Nov06

We've joined up with our group at the lodge in Windhoek and after an early breakfast (7AM which it turns out is not really early) we head across the desert to Sesriem.

This leg is very mountainous, very dry and very hot

We pass a few villages and small towns

But generally there is nothing but scrub.

These are huge nests housing dozens of small birds.

This is our guide Sam, posing in front of sign for our lunch stop.
