Phnom Penh / Dec05-06

Phnom Penh is a messy city

On the river, families live on the fishing boats.

The Foreign Correspondent's Club is nearby.  You can imagine journalists covering the 'American' war swapping stories.

The walls on the club are lined with photographs of land mine victims and their stories.

The FCC also has a great Mojito!
and lizards

Outside along the river, are many groups of Cambodian line dancers.

The next day we tour the Royal Palace with its many temples and stupas

Words of wisdom

The President of Vietnam was dropping by for a visit.  These honor guards await the arrival

Thousands of school children had the day off.

Hurrah!

The last stop of the day was the Russian Market.  This is outside the market.
Inside is a warren of tiny stalls selling everything from jewellery to motor bike parts to Buddhas.

Get your dinner here
Ducks, tongues, feet and other unidentified parts.

And you can find anything else you need on the street

  1. OMG...lizards, line dancing, and coffin shop!
Again, wonderful pictures that give such a flavour of the place.
